Audience - My magazine will be aimed for people aged between 15 and 30. As my magazine is a rock magazine it will be aimed at the younger generation as this type of music is found to be popular with younger people.

My music magazine will be based on Alternative Rock music. Rock music is a genre of popular music that entered the mainstream in the 1960s. Rock music progressed from the 1940s when it drew on folk music, jazz, country music and the blues. Rock music is popular in todays modern culture which is the reason I have chose to base my magazine on Rock music.

Examples of genres:

• Pop - Michael Jackson, Mcfly, Christina Aguilera
• Rap - Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kanye West
• R&B - Usher, Beyonce Knowles, Whitney Houston
• Punk - Good Charlotte, Blink 182, Sex Pistols
• Metal - Metallica, Cannibal Corpse, Iron Madien
• Rock - Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones
• Dance music - Ultrabeat

Conventions of a music magazine.

• Dark background (Red, Black) - Darker colours give the magazine an 'edge' and alternative.
• Main photo - Band member ( Singer, guitarist, Bassist, Drummer )
